Teak Outdoor Tables
Teak wood is a very popular choice when it comes to choosing patio furniture. Teak outdoor
tables are very durable and long lasting, thus they are becoming consumers top choice when purchasing a table for their
patio.
Teak is grown in Southeast Asia in thick
tropical forests. A hardwood is extremely weather resistant. Another popular feature of the wood is the natural oil that is present. The wood is
also unlikely to split or crack as well. These features make it extremely sought after and teak outdoor tables are very popular because of the
benefits of this remarkable wood.
Keep in mind that teak outdoor tables are more expensive than your standard plastic or metal
outdoor furniture. However, your teak furniture will last longer and be a better investment than any other type of product. There are various
types of wood used in outdoor furniture, such as mahogany, cheery and oak; however none have the durability and resistance of
teak.
Teak outdoor tables will also not warp or be attacked by termites. Many people believe that they
can store their teak furniture outdoors, which is fine, except that if you get severe winters it may be a good idea to store the furniture
indoors. If you do not have room for this then purchasing covers for your items is a good idea. Although teak manufacturers indicate that the
wood can withstand any type of weather.
The teak oil in teak outdoor tables will prevent stains from forming on the wood and it will slow
down the bleaching effect of the sun. If you do not mind the bleaching from the sun, then do not worry about applying any teak oil. Some people
just prefer the weathered look of the wood. If you do wish to apply the oil then make sure the wood is clean and dry. Apply it with a paintbrush
but do not leave any excess oil on the wood. After five or ten minutes, wipe with a cloth. You can always consult with the manufacturer for care of your teak outdoor tables.
